Red Velvet Cupcake Recipe
Red Velvet Cupcakes are some absolute cracker for any occasions like your kids birthday or a valentine's day treat. These very sweet Desserts is a very popular American dessert. Red Velvet Cupcake Recipe is not a hard recipe to cook, but you need to be very careful while making these cupcakes to serve them in good looks. If you are in hurry don't have much time for desserts Red Velvet Cupcakes still taste great without Frosting.
Here is my Red Velvet Cupcake Recipe:
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 cups plain Flour
  • 5 large Eggs
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 cup powdered Baking cocoa
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 2 sticks Butter
  • 1 cup Buttermilk (see note at bottom)
  • 1 tsp Red food coloring
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
Procedure:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 C.
  • Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl. Sift this mixture at least three times.
  • Cream butter and sugar together until they get light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time,  beating the mixture well with each egg. 
  • Add 1/4 of dry ingredients and then 1/4 of buttermilk to the creamed mixture turn by turn until mixed well. 
  • No add vanilla and red coloring to the mixture.
  • Pour this mixture into your cupcake pans, and bake them in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes.
  • Let the cupcakes cool for 5-10 minutes before taking them out of the pan.
  • You may now Frost the cupcakes, decorating them as you like and serve them.

  1. I noticed that a lot of recipes call for vinegar to react with the baking soda, is there a reason why you did not inclide the vinegar? Thanks

  2. Red Velvet Cupcakes are sweet desserts, use of Vinegar to react with baking soda will spoil the dessert's sweetness with that vinegary taste. Baking soda is useful here so that while baking the cupcake they bake fluffy, so Vinegar is a wrong choice.
