Chicken Biryani Recipe

Chicken Biryani is originally a Indian (Hyderabad) dish... but now is supposedly one very popular dish in South Asia... and are found to be influencing West too.
So here is one very simple recipe for Chicken Biryani which is quick and easy to make in your Kitchen.
Chicken Biryani Recipe
Chicken Biryani

Ingredients:
  •  1 kg Chicken pieces 
  •  500 gm Rice washed and soaked for 15-25 min) 
  •  4 tbsp Garam Masala Powder 
  •  50 gm Butter 
  •  4 tbsp chopped Garlic 
  •  1 cup sliced Onions 
  •  3 tbsp Red Chili Powder
  •  4 tbsp chopped Ginger
  •  1 tbsp Coriander Powder 
  •  5 tbsp Oil 
  •  2 tbsp Turmeric Powder 
  •  2 cup Curd/yogurt (Optional)
  •  3/4 cup chopped Tomato
  •  4 Bay Leaves 
    • For the marinade:
      •  1-1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder 
      • 2 tbsp chopped Ginger
      • 2 tbsp chopped Garlic 
      • 1 tbsp Garam Masala Powder 
      • 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder 
      •  1 cup Yogurt 
      •  Salt to taste
Procedure:
  •  Put all the ingredients of the marinade in a bowl and mix well.
  •  Add chicken pieces to it and leave for an hour.
  •  Now boil water, add bay leaf, rice and a little butter in it and cook it until 3/4 th is done, drain and keep it aside.
  •  Heat oil in a thick bottomed pan add sliced onions and cook it till light golden brown.
  •  Add 1 tbsp of the garam masala and all the remaining ingredients, including tomatoes but rice.
  •  Cook for 5 minutes and add marinated chicken in it.
  •  Cook until chicken is tender.
  •  Place alternate layers of chicken and rice.
  •  Add butter abd a little Garam masala in every layer.
  •  Cover it and cook it further on low flame for 10-12 minutes.
Now your delicious Chicken Biryani is ready to be served. If you are not in any weight loss diet program, you must be very happy to try this recipe :D

  2. I will try this as a vegetarian recipe. Sounds delicious. Please forgive the western world for not knowing much about Indian cuisine. It took me decades to discover the unique delicious tastes of Indian cuisine and how good your food is for the soul, mind, and spirit.

    I wouldn't mind trying to original way of making this recipe. Sometimes the longer it takes to prepare a dish, the better it tastes.
