Ingredients
- 2 Potatoes medium sized (shredded)
- 1/4 cup plain flour
- 1/2 of an onion (finely chopped)
- 1 egg
- Oil for frying, about 1 cup
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Rinse the shredded potatoes many times until you get clear water.
- Drain the potatoes and squeeze them to dry.
- Place these shredded potatoes in a bowl.
- Mix onion, flour and egg in the bowl well.
- Pour about 1/4 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.Heat the Oil to sizzling hot.
- Make the potato mixture into patties like shape(or any flat shape you desire) and carefully put into the hot oil.
- Cook them until nicely browned on the bottom, then flip over to brown the other side. Requires about 5 minutes in each side.
- Remove the hash browns from the pan, drain the oil in a paper towel.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
