- 4 Potatoes (peeled and cut into strips)
- 1 cup plain Flour
- 1 1/2 pounds Cod fillets
- 1 tsp Ground black pepper
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 Egg
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 tsp Salt
Procedure:
- Preheat the oil in a large pot.
- Put cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water.
- Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
- Stir milk and egg into the flour until the mixture is smooth. Let is stand for 20 minutes.
- Fry the potatoes into the heated oil until they are tender and golden. Drain the oil on paper towels.
- Dredge the fish in the batter, one piece at a time, and put them them into the hot oil.
- Fry the fish until it is golden brown. Drain them on paper towel
- Now fry the "already" fried potatoes for 2-3 minutes to add extra crisp to chips.
